Copenhagen is a city with fascinating architecture, welcoming and impressive, which has the greatest carfree zone in the world, a collection of pedestrian streets where there are a lot of restaurants, coffee houses, hectic nightlife.

In 1960, the old narrow streets became too small for the passers-by, Therefore the authorities set up a
pedestrian area that runs from Rådshuspladsen (Place de l'Hotel de Ville) to Kongens Nytorv (Place Royale). Called "Strøget", the main shopping street where cars are not allowed to circulate is almost 3,2 km long and includes narrow streets and historic squares. "Strøget" is a major tourist attraction with art galleries, souvenir shops, theaters, museums. Day and night, the street is always something surprising. "Strøget" enjoys a huge success for 45 years, becoming a model and inspiration for hundreds of capitals and major cities in the world. Every day at noon, the Royal Guard March march to the Palace Amalienborg starting the Castle Rosenborg along the "Strøget".
