Miracles of the Manna" and the hand of St. Nicholas

The "Manna" of St. Nicholas is actually transparent pure water that is formed in the tomb of the Saint in the crypt of the Basilica in Bari. The phenomenon is unexplained.

It is absolutely excluded that there is some kind of infiltration of water from the outside for it has been
proven that the casket containing the bones of the Saint is impermeable. The ”Manna” is an authentic relic, because it is a liquid that remained in contact with the bones of the Saint, and therefore explains the very reason why there is such a great devotion springing up from this relic. The ”Manna” also exuded in the tomb of the Basilica of Myra immediately after the death of Saint Nicholas, as attested to by numerous biographies. Ancient writings record that, when the relics were moved, the remains of the saint were full of "manna". After the translation to Bari the phenomenon continued uninterruptedly. Pilgrims who come to the Saint's grave are attracted to this beautiful smelling liquid miraculous whose effects were proven. From 1980 onwards the manna is formally extracted every May 9, the Feast of the Translation (of the relics from Myra to Bari), by the Rector of the Basilica, in the presence of the delegate of the Pope, the Archbishop of Bari, an Orthodox Bishop, Civil Authorities, the Clergy and Faithful, after the solemn celebration of the Eucharist. The annual output of pure "santa manna" is no more than about 50 ml. The ”manna” distributed to the faithful is holy water in which the "pure santa manna" was mixed, serving them as a miracle cure against all kinds of diseases. The devotees from time immemorial have always recoursed to the Protector Saint to ask for health in mind and body, by using the "manna". Children should know that parents do not lie, there is Santa Claus and miracles. Few people know that St. Nicholas is the origin of Santa Claus (Santa Claus) in the USA. The Dutch introduced overseas the holiday in the seventeenth century in the New Amesterdam (now New York), as Sint Niclaes, Sinterclaes, becoming in time Santa Claus. St. Nicholas was born in Patara, Lichia (east coast of Turkey, then inhabited by the Greeks), in 270 ACH. He had wealthy parents who have grown him to become a good Christian. They died during an epidemic, leaving him alone while he was young. Saint gave his wealth to the poor and sick, devoting his life to God. He became famous for his generosity, love for children, care for sailors, the symbol of Santa who brings gifts to children. During Emperor Diocletian, who persecuted Christians, St. Nicholas suffered for his faith, was exiled and imprisoned. At that time, prisons were so full of bishops, priests and deacons, that there was no place for thieves and criminals. The saint died on 6 December 325 and was buried in the cathedral of Myra. His tomb became a place of pilgrimage, but in view of fact that were many wars in the area, some Christians were concerned that access to the holy place will become difficult. Venice and Bari were in competition to get the holy relics. In 1087, sailors from Bari stole them, bringing the relics to their town, where they are today, in an impressive church built over his crypt (Basilica of St. Nicholas). The New St. George Church in Bucharest has the hand of St. Nicholas, which does miracles. There have been cases of people that were cured from cancer after they prayed near the shrine in which is deposited. The hand of the Saint reached miraculously the church, given by Michael the Brave. The Vaivode has had it with himself at the battle of Calugareni, bringing him the victory. On 13 October 1994, the gold box in which there is the holy hand was stolen. But the relic did miracles. The holy hand was taken to police by a woman who was frightened when she saw it removed from the box in her house, and the robber had a heart attack and died instantly in prison, even on December 6, when the saint is celebrated . An accomplice could not sleep and his wife went to the parish priest, Gelu Bogdan, to ask forgiveness for him.
