Herbaceous plant with small blue flower that grows in damp,
shady places, myosotis (Myosotis palustris) is known by everyone as
“forget-me-not”.
This delicate flower, symbol of love and fidelity, is full of
charm and elegance. Its name, forget-me-not,
comes from an old medieval legend.
It is said that a brave knight wanted one day to pick a flower for his
girlfriend dressed in armor. He fell from his horse in a torrent that "swallowed" him in its waves. While
drowning, he threw a blue flower to the woman he was in love with calling her:
“Forget-me-not”! In 1948, mioyotis was adopted as Masonic emblem at the first annual conference of the United
Grand Lodge of Germany. The flower reminds those who have suffered in the name
of Freemasonry.
